DAVID ARCHULETA
Posted on 8:42 AM by Elwin
For the second time in my life, I was reminded why I became a fan of David.
(Oh I am doing away with the retarded ¬¬ sign, they look retarded.)
This post will be a long post, and rightfull
y so, because he deserves it (and more, really).

Meh, sorry that it has been like a week since I got back to this post, but my feeble mind and human mind succumbs too easily to the irresistible allure of PD QQ threads.
Anyway that day I woke at like 3 (am, mind you) since I could barely sleep from all the anticipation and excitement. Spent the next eight hours just playing all of David's songs repeatedly, for fear of forgetting the lyrics of any song he may be singing at the showcase.
Then the real fun starts.
The whole thing actually starts at 5.30 but me being the fanboy I am decided to go there two whole hours early. Obviously, such a splendid idea could only come from a fangirl.
The invite admitted two, so I asked someone from DASG to come along. So when she suggested that we meet by 3 at Orchard it was like a snap call. From there we took a cab to Zouk, like holy shit I am a minor that legally entered a club.
So, I was thinking, hell yeah we're gonna be first!
Nope.
I counted 17 people who were there before us, and perhaps unsurprisingly I was the only guy there so early. Which was totally awkward. I don't see how I can make almost 3 hours of waiting sound exciting...
Around 5pm, as you can see the queue is crazy long, it stretched like one whole road and back.
so... while I was waiting, I was just staring around and it was quite amusing, all the fangirls. Firstly, I never knew David had such charisma towards the Malay group (ok fine I am a guy, I should stfu) but really, 30% were Malays. Also quite interestingly, a lot of them were sporting really lol shirts, like 'I (heart) David James Archuleta' or some cheesy picture of him.
Even more extreme was this girl, I figure 11 years old, in front of me. She came with her mom (LOLWUTWTF?) who was carrying three placards which corny stuff written on it. Jeez.
One more observation, which I am embarrassed to admit, is the gender ratio. For the area around me, it was like 15?:1. Heavily outnumbered. For obvious reasons, it kept on decreasing until a decent 3:2. You could figure which gender is which.
Nearer to the start of the showcase, some media people came. Some funny journalist from New Paper interviewed some fangirls and failed obviously. She asked like, 'What do you like about David?' and almost everyone wi
thin range of hearing started screaming. I could swear they were on the verge of hyperventilating. Quite a lol.
Irrelevant details aside...
The door opened and everyone went crazy, me included. After getting our tickets checked, all of us RUSHED right into the club without really knowing where it's gonna be for fear of being left behind. Thank god me and Sheryl managed to secure like the second row. That means barely two metres away from the stage. Oh god.
Unfortunately, Singapore never does ANYTHING right, and they got the muttons at midnight dudes from 987 come and host the show. Which was quite a disaster if you asked me.

Lambs.
Ah the third Caucasian guy on the left is named Alfredo Herz. Cool humble dude. He was sitting there before anything happened and all of us were like wtf is he doing. Then he said he was David's guitarist and I just went omg. Just when I thought it couldn't any better.
RULES:
1) NO HATIN'
2) NO FLAMIN'
3) NO TROLLIN'
And, suspend all personal (dis)belief(s) regarding my sexual orientation as for now. Of course I am straight.
Btw I am really sorry for the horrible filming. At times I even put it on the wrong orientation. But forgive me.
With that (in chronological order),
-Elevator-
OH MY GOD MY HEART JUST MELTED. I WAS THAT CLOSE TO HIM.
You could gauge by the damn screams how crazy the fangirls were.
And that little dance he does when he sings 'Elevator goes up, elevator come down, and you just go with the flow~'
Such charm is illegal.
The audience interaction was cheesy on hindsight, but oh my god it was so hilarious. As you could tell by the way he divided the crowd, I was right in the centre. Vantage. (:
Ahhhh~ I could ramble on about how amazing that was, but later on.
The minirose he got from a fangirl was lol.
[Here he told us the inspiration for Elevator, which was exactly what happens at the start of the song. I mean, what a cute dream lol.]
-The Other Side Of Down-
That giggle.
And he dances yet again at the start of the chorus! It really is ridiculous how such actions coming from a completely random stranger could fill me with so much joy.
On the other side of down~
[After he completes this song, someone from the audience shouted 'What is the other side of down?' David was kinda stumped by that, then said it has to up, I guess. Normally when someone says something so overwhelming retarded, I would just roll my eyes. But, exceptions. It's just so adorable when he cracks lame jokes.]
-My Kind Of Perfect-
Oh, this one. LOL
If you had to watch one video from all these, it HAS to be this one.
'Aww~, thank you!' OH MY GOD. Shit I love the fangirls. And when David said 'what do you look for in a girl', all hell broke loose ggwp. Totally funny.
'Marry me' was pretty hilarious lol.
And the way he tries to divert attention away by trash talking about shirts, oh man.
And also, apparently the way he plays the keyboard is romantic, all the girls just degened into this symphony of fangirlism.
On to actual stuff, his vocals were so strong for this song. It is so amazing that someone who has endured vocal cord paralysis could come so far. And he is only a few years older than us. A true role model for everyone. I could only dream of being half as successful when I retire. Some people just have it all lol.
ONE VERY INTERESTING THING TO NOTE WAS 5:29. YOU COULD HEAR A GUY VERY CLEARLY SAY 'DAVID, YOU ARE MY KIND OF PERFECT.' So fk'ed omg.
But yes, this guy is perfect. Mr. Gay was speaking the truth after all.
[You have absolutely no idea how privileged I feel for being the first audience he has performed this beautiful song to.]
HIS MIND GOT READ LIKE A BOOK.
-Crush-
You could tell how excited I was by the violent vibration of my phone. I was literally shaking and jumping for joy.
I know it's impossible to materialise his voice into the sorely limited vocabulary of English, so I won't try. But, pay attention to 2:48 and he holds the note. Quite obviously my camera shook again lol. Ah~
I love how he is always such a tease, always going slow then showing his vocal prowess later on in the song. Lol.
The crowd's disappointment when David said there was only one more song was D:
[Love.]
-Something 'Bout Love-
I thought he wouldn't be able to best his performance on My Kind Of Perfect. Big boo boo. I am just crazily in love with his falsetto. The sickeningly high range that this songs requires, one wouldn't expect a live singer to hit it all. Nope.
'I love you Singapore.'
We love you too.
[And he talked a little more to us, and he left. NOO]
Meh.
I still have TONS of photos I took of him, but shan't whore it all over here for the sake of my image.
Anyway, absolutely mind blowing night, even though my videos definitely fail to bring the mood and atmosphere of the entire night along. Sigh.
And oh yes.
A level of adorability almost on David's level. Close enough.

You know, I feel really really guilty for having lagged out on David. But never mind. I am a fast learner, never will commit the same mistake twice.
Archuleta fanboyism imo tbc

Lots of love, world. Good night.
